 Introduction to Culture


Instructions: Today, I want you to write a reflective blog entry. You need to write in paragraph form, using complete sentences. Think of this as an actual blog post that you would be sharing on the Internet for others to read. You should write in first person, and reflect on your comprehension and global awareness that you have gained thus far. Write with a purpose that is informative to your audience.

Directions: I am going to pose a series of questions to guide your writing and thinking process. Please do not number your responses, rather write in PARAGRAPH form. These questions are to guide your perspective of diverse cultures around the world. 

Guiding Questions:

1. What is culture? Provide examples (at least three real world examples)

2. What makes a culture unique? Explain. 

3. How does culture define a person? Can a person be a part of multiple cultures? Explain.

4. How can diverse cultures lead to arguments and misunderstandings? As a globalized society, how do we overcome this?

5. How can you be respectful to a person who shares a different culture, perspective, or worldview as you?

6. Why is it important for us to be aware of diverse cultures? Why is respect important?
