Map Projection Madness

 Instructions: In your blogger account, create a second post titled "Map Projection Madness". Answer the following questions in complete sentences. Add at least two map projection images from Google (remember, this blog is published to the web. To adhere to copyright law, when you Google "map projection" in images, click on "Tools". Click on "Usage Rights" and change it to "Labeled for noncommercial use". OR You can choose any image but you must have a MLA citation below the image [see Mrs. Ruiz's example]. Questions:

1. Why are map projections important to the field of geography?

2. How has the Mercator map projection distorted our geopolitical view of the world?

3. When analyzing a map, you will notice that the majority of developed countries are in the Northern Hemisphere. Below the Equator, we find that majority of countries are developing. How has map projections created this developmental gap in the world? Do map projections have anything to do with this uneven development? Explain your answer. (At least a short paragraph of five sentences).

4. Has your view of the world changed since learning about map projections. Explain why or why not.
